08/10/2020 – The measurements regarding COVID-19 keeps the minds busy. Especially with the NQHA/AQHA Dutch Championship coming up, scheduled for tomorrow up to and including Sunday at Reining Center Meertenhof in Grathem (NLD). In particular the Belgian entries are holding back and many of them cancel their participation at the last moment. The province Limburg has been classified by the Belgium government as a C-19 code red area; not yet by the Dutch government yet. The fear among the Belgians to be forced to go in quarantine when returning to their home country is fairly unfounded. According to the latest information available, quarantine is only required when staying in the Netherlands for more than 48 hours. One can therefore decide to sleep at home; 48 hours will not be an issue anymore. Many people have their horse(s) boarded at a riding- or training facility and entrust the care for their horse(s) during the evening and night to the owner of the facility; so that’s no issue.
Reining Center Meertenhof meets all the requirements to facilitate a ‘corona proof’ show and the organizers will strictly see to it that the mandatory measurements will be followed and respected; not an issue.
