Cremona warming up for Italian Derby

18/05/2019 – The preliminaries of the € 110.400 added Italian Derby van start will kick off on Monday. The number of participating Dutch and Belgian riders is extremely poor this year.
Dutch Suzanne Scharroo enters the 5-year-old gelding Topsail Wimp BB [Wimpys Little Step] and the 5-year-old gelding Shortylittlestep BB [Wimpys Little Step] in the L4 and L3 Non Pro division and Dutch Petra van Ede enters the 5-year-old mare Cee U In Tinseltown [Hollywoodstinseltown], owned by Gisela Haas, in de L4 and L3 Open division.
The participating Belgian riders all enter in the Open division. Cira Baeck enters the 5-year-old mare e Shine Flashy Shine [Shine Chic Shine] and the 7-year-old stallion Gunstep [Wimpys Little Step], both owned by CS Ranch, in L4; Ann Fonck enters the 5-year-old mare Gunners Specialolena [Gunners Special Nite], owned by Diego dalla Gassa, and the 5-year-old mare Spook N Ruffles [Smart Spook], owned by Brigitte Steiner, in L4; and Nimroid Vannietvelt enters the 7-year-old gelding Whiz Genuinefootwork [Who Whiz It], owned by Steve Vannietvelt and Gina de Pauw, in L2 en L1.
The Non Pro finals are scheduled for Friday May 24 and the Open finals for Saturday May 25.
The Derby is scheduled in conjunction with Salone del Cavallo Americano; therefore the doors for the public open on Friday. Tickets to attend the finals cost € 35,00. Visit for additional information.
