04/09/2020 – The Italian reining community mourns, the direct family is facing a tremendous loss to deal with. Yesterday 19-year-old Italian Matteo Manuel Bonzano passed away; Matteo lost his battle against cancer.
As a 15-year-old boy his father Manuel Bonzano handed over the reins to him of High Point Reiner, the horse he achieved the 2015 NRHA Non Pro World Champion title with. Since then Matteo has be a great value for Italy. At the FEI EC Reining Junior Riders in 2016 he lifted the Italian team to the highest step of the podium and the golden medal. At the FEI WC Reining Junior Riders 2017, Matteo again was of great value to bring the Italian team to the highest step of the podium and the talented young Italian claimed individual silver. In 2018 Matteo and his team achieved bronze at the FEI EC Reining Junior Riders.
Words are just missing. Besides being a talented and sportive rider, Matteo was very beloved being the person he was: powerful, insisting, friendly and cordial. Matteo will be missed.
