Remarkable final NRHA L4 and L3 Non Pro Futurity

07/12/2019 – The finales of the NRHA Non Po Futurity concluded yesterday in Oklahoma City (USA) are quite remarkable. Being the 1st to enter Jesse Asmussen and Ruf Style Of Play [Not Ruf At All] put the barrier high marking a 220,0. That remained the top score until the last entry, but the battle had not yet begun. 15-year-old Youth rider Luca Fappani and Gotta Get Diamonds [Spooks Gotta Whiz] were optioned a re-run because a turned loose dog jumped into the arena disturbing his performance. The young rider accepted the option and marked a 220,0 in the re-run as well. Both riders agreed to a run-off, the welfare of the horse apparently did not count: in not less than one hour asking a 3-year-old to perform at his best is just too much to ask. Asmussen marked a 222,0 in the run-off, Fappani a 218,0. The L4 and L3 title were for Asmussen, the L4 and L3 reserve title as well as the L2 and Youth title for the younger version of Andrea Fappani. Reserve honors in L2 were for Jessicah Keller and Snips Shining Gun [Colonels Shining Gun] marking a 218,0; the L1 title for Blair McFarlin and Starlight N Dreams [Magnum Chic Dream] marking a 215,0; reserve honors in L1 for Sally Berg and Had Us At Hello [Ref Black Mamba] marking a 214,5; and reserve honors in the youth division for Taylor Zimmermann and Its All About Ruf [Not Ruf At All] marking a 217,5.
