Chex N The Trash and Matyas Gobert EAC Open Champion

27/07/2026 – In front of a full house the $ 10.000 added Open class was the closure of the NRHA European Affiliate Championship 2026 (EAC) scheduled at Reining Center Meertenhof in Grathem (NLD). The audience was treated with beautifully performed patterns of which the performance of Matyas Gobert (BEL) and the 5-year-old stallion Chex N The Trash [Gunnatrashya] owned by van AT Reining Dream (BEL) was the absolute highlight of the evening.
Being the 2nd entry, Bernard Fonck (BEL) and the 5-year-old mare Dresss Code [Electric Code] owned by Golden Paint Ranch (BEL) set the bar high, posting a 224,0. Not high enough though for Arnaud Girinon (FRA) with the 7-year-old stallion A Spook Is Dun [Spooks Gotta Whiz] owned by FC American Horses Cerantula (ITA), being entry number 8. The excitingly ridden pattern was awarded with a 225,0. But even that bar turned out not to be high enough for Gobert. The run-in and back up ware good; both sets of spins breath taking and the pair continued their pattern with exciting maneuvers, leaving nothing to chance. Their effort was rewarded with a 229,0 score and the NRHA EAC 2026 Open Champion title. Reserve honors were for A Spook Is Dun and Girinon, step 3 of the podium for Dresss Code and Fonck.
The title in the APHA Chrome Cash Open class, scheduled class in class was awarded to Chex N The Trash ridden by Gobert.
The NRHA EAC 2026, organized by the Dutch Reining Horse Association is in the books. The NRHA EAC 2027 will be scheduled at Meertenhof once again.
