Exiting IRHA Open Derby finals

Exiting IRHA Open Derby finals

02/04/2023 – 62 entries in total put on a great show in the finals of IRHA/IRHBA Derby scheduled for yesterday in Cremona (ITA). Towards the end of the show it seemed that Lukasz Czechowicz (POL) would claim both the IRHA- and  IRHBA L4 Open Derby Champion- and IRHA- and IRHBA L4 Open Derby Reserve Champion titles. Aboard the 5-year-old stallion CSG Wisemanfear Czechowicz  had marked a 227,0 and with the 5-year-old stallion CGS Kenzo between the reins a 225,5. Both horses are direct sons of Colonels Shining Gun and are owned by Katarzyna Roleska. With only 4 more entries to go, Ann Fonck (BE) and the 7-year-old gelding Colonels Whize Gun [Colonels Shining Gun] owned by Anneliese and Hermann Meinert shattered this dream. The run in was not very promising, but the execution of the spins more than made up for that and the other maneuvers were just executed fine resulting in a 226,5. The expectations of the last entry, Arnaud Girinon (FRA) and the 8-year-old stallion Honey First Gunny [Gunner] owned by Le Fattorie di Matilde SRL, leaders of the preliminaries, were high. Posting a 224,5 Girinon did not live up to the expectations. Both L4 Open Derby Champion titles are awarded to Czechowicz and both L4 Open Derby Reserve Champion titles to Fonck.
Posting a 223,0, both the IRHA- and IRHBA L3 Open Derby Champion titles were claimed by Francesco Barbagli (ITA) and the 5-year-old stallion Steppin To Amarillo [Steppin On Sparks] owned by Riccardo Abati. Both reserve titles were claimed by Massimiliano Ruggeri (ITA) and the 8-year-old gelding Spook Sunburst [Great Sun Burst] owned by Silvia Garuti posting a 221,0. Ruggeri also claimed both the IRHA- and IRHBA L2 Open Derby Champion titles. Both reserve honors as well as the IRHA- and IRHBA L1 Open Derby Champion titles were awarded to Andrea Sanfelici and the 6-year-old gelding Boomer Little Uno [Mister Little Uno] owned by Cristian Gorni posting a 218,0. Both L1 reserve titles were awarded to Serena Bertelli (ITA) and the 7-year-old stallion Mini Cilindro PC [Doc Classis Sire] owned by Societa Agricola Pietra Cavalla posting a 215,5.
The Dutch finalist did a good job. Kristiaan Hermus piloted the 6-year-old mare Miss Maggie Brown [Magnum Chic Dream] owned by Kyra te Paske to a 6th place in the IRHA L3 rankings posting a 215,5. Tiara van Dongen and the 5-year-old mare Orangeisthenublack [Smart Spook] owned by Gisela Haas posted a 222,0, placing 8ste in both the IRHA L4- and IRHBA 4 rankings.
