Kubli, Hesse and Bachleitner NRHA-G Non Pro Derby Champions

09/10/2021 – The finals of the NRHA Germany Non Pro Breeders Derby have been concluded yesterday in the Ostbayernhalle in Rieden-Kreuth (GER). The big winners are German Robert Hesse, Swiss  Alex Kubli and Austrian Celina Bachleitner.
Posting a 214,0 with the 6-year-old gelding My Personal Mercedes [Cromed Out Mercedes] Hesse claimed both the L1- and L2 title. Reserve honors in both divisions were for German Maria Theresa Till and the 12-year-old stallion Arc Captain [Master Snapper] posting a 213,5.
Kubli piloted his 8-year-old stallion Gunna Ruf Ya [Gunnatrashya] with a 215,5 to the title in both the L4 and L3. The title was decided in a run off though, because Austrian youth rider Celina Bachleitner and the 12-year-old gelding Paintball Gun [Gunner] posted a 215,5 as well. The run was decided in Apart from claiming the reserve title in both L3 and  L4, Bachleitner also claimed the Youth Derby Champion title with 3,5 points ahead of number  2. The reserve title was for German Laura Schmitz and her 7-year-old gelding Kangaroosta [Little Banty Rooster].
In L4, L3 and L2 all eyes were focused on the last entry: the 72-year-old Olga Hofmann (GER) and the 11-year-old gelding Walla Whiz Keen [Walla Walla Whiz] who surprisingly took the lead in the preliminaries. The minor penalty on the spins did not hurt, she earned her credits on the maneuver as well as in the circles that were performed more than average. Unfortunately the combination came short in the roll backs, resulting in a 210,0, a tie for 7th place in L4, a tie for 8th place L3 and a tie for 7th place in L2. Great achievement.
Elena Lagendijk (NLD) and the 7-year-old gelding  Customized Gun [Pale Face Dunnit] posted a 210,0 as well, tying for 8th and 7th place in L2 and L3 and tying for 8 place in L1. Catharine Smetsers (NLD) and the 7-year-old mare Wimpy Special Gun [One Gun] posted a 209,0 tying for 13th place in L1 and 12th place L3.
Hard to swallow was the no-score for Siebe van Bekhoven (BEL) and the 6-year-old gelding WS Check My Pedigree [Wimpys Smoking Gun]. Strong in the preliminaries, qualifying for the L4, L3, L2 and L1 finals. Somewhere there was a switch loose.
